Working Together
For A Stronger Future
WAYS TO GET INVOLVED
Attend Union Meetings
“We don’t wait for a better future, we create it.”
-Marty Walsh
Get to know your Shop Stewart
Each Department has their own Shop Steward. Find out about issues they are working, upcoming trainings and other news going on in our union. Your Shop Steward is a lot like a Sergent in the militiary. They are on the frontline of protecting your rights in the workplace.
Every Steward is happy to meet a member who wants to be more involved in our union.
Become A Shop Steward
The shop steward is the union’s representative in the workplace, and as such, he is the contact person between the union and the employees. The shop steward is to ensure that employment contracts and collective wage agreements are complied with and that the rights of employees are not violated.
Join the Contract Action Team
The Contract Action Team (CAT) is a dedicated group of member leaders who are at the center of leveraging our collective power during negotiations. CAT members communicate regularly with other co-workers in their area about the progress of negotiations and the work we are moving through our actions.
New Ways to Help Your Union
Are you on Facebook, Instgram or other Social Media plateforms… Help the union get the word out about upcoming events and important news.
The Importance of Welcoming New Members
